Just for fun!

Well I'm glad/sad to announce that I will no longer be sewing for a business. I had more to do than I could enjoy. I finally have time to sew for my kids!

I will keep the blog just to share my projects, but I will not sell my items any more. If you're looking for someone local to do your embroidery, Crystal Spencer goes to church with me and does great work. Also, etsy.com has lots of vendors with cute ideas.

Here are a couple of the projects I've done for my family in the last week:

I love buying a Walmart outfit and adding a cute touch. I think it is funny when I run into someone who recognises the outfit from Walmart or if someone asks where I got it. When I say that it is from Walmart I always get funny looks. I never mention that I sew.

I bribed the boys to lay still for pictures by giving them suckers!
Here is Luke's birthday outfit. He loved the shirt I made for his cousin, so we went to the store and I let him pick out the fabric to go inside his "4". When we got there, he sheepishly asked me for some shorts too. When I said yes, he excitedly asked if he could have a cape too!

I know that just a few years from now, when I ask Luke if I can make him something he won't want me to. I'm enjoying this while I can!

BTW We tried and tried to get him to want something different on the cape. We threw out "Happy Birthday" and "Luke is Four!" , but he wanted his cape to say "Welcome to my Birthday" He picked out everything down to the sprinkles on his cupcake. He helped me pick out every thread color and even cut the fabric and hit start on the machine. We did it together.

See...I need time to get to my kids :)

Baby Braden

Baby Braden's set is in a new fabric combination of curdory, stripe and argile in very boyish colors. I like these fabrics because you can emphasize different colors in the embroidery. This set focused on blue and brown, but you could also focus on the green/brown or any of the other colors used in these fabrics. This set has an extra large swaddle blanket, hat, handmade heavy duty burp cloth, and onesie.
All packaged and ready to go

Sisters

This was a fun order for H about to turn 3 and her little sister. Mom loves for the girls to match and H needed a birthday shirt. H loves to pretend to be a superhero. She's a perfect candidate for a cape. Capes are always more fun when you've got someone to play with, so both H and her sister are getting one. Have fun!

Toddler Cape

I have been making girl/boy capes for a while now for about 3+ year old kids. They are a big hit for birthday presents. After making a cape this week, I had just enough material left for a tiny cape. Titus just turned 16 mo. I didn't think he was really old enough to enjoy the cape, but since the material was not really good for much else, I made him a cape.

He LOVES it. He comes up to me and says "Peese" asking for it. When I put it on him, he just starts running around. He wants to chase and run. I finally took him outside so he could really run for a while. We ran all the way to the pond and fed the ducks. Warning: when I take it off, he throws a fit :o

I'm off for a run!

A bite for the ducks, a bite for me...I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

I guess the capes can definately be used for younger kids! More about Sew Tiny Boutique's Capes

Handmade Burp Cloth and More

I've been experimenting more with the handmade burp cloth. It's fun to be able to make everything coordinate. The "C" is on the back of the pants, I just turned them over so that it could be seen.

My favorite boy set right now is the cowboy set. This family was doing a western nursery, so I knew this was the set for them!

These are not for sale anytime soon, but I had to share. I made my first diaper and wipes holder :) Seriously, I am so intimidated by button holes, but I thought this needed a big red button. Titus is getting close to not needing the diaper bag and I'm getting close to getting to carry a purse again. We still let him have a pacifier, so I made a little pocket for that too.

Big Sis

Ava's Adventures requested a Big Sis shirt for their daughter who will soon be a big sis. Baby is coming in the spring, so mom requested a small flower to dot the "i" of Sis. Here it is :) Enjoy, and we can't wait to meet baby.

Sew Tiny Boutique!

Thanks to all of you that sent e-mails and posted on the blog with name ideas. There were many that were good.

Congratulations to "Ava's Adventures!" I loved Sew Tiny the minute I saw it. It was the perfect name. This mom is expecting a baby girl soon, so I bet she'll love having the free onesie.

Thanks again to all who participated!
